Let me explain a bit...The idea behind this is that Canada although moving forward cannot forget it's past history. Canada under the British Crown. Although the Royal Family and Britain's influence is purely costume jewelry nowadays it's still a part of the rich history of Canada and thus will always be present in the future of Canada.
